Side of the Street

The man on the side of the street
said we looked like Ross and Joey
before he said he was hungry.
I guess no compliment comes for free.

They made a pact to petition the sidewalk
so all could roam the shoreside lakefront.
The neighbor’s said it was home to other feet,
now they blockade their side of the street.

From Montezuma to Mozambique,
Columbus to Glad0s’ technique.
To finger-pointing colonizers,
all it takes is a swish and a flick
then, there you are, safe
on your side of the street!
